Making sure your Kitten feels at home

As always the first few days when your kitten is introduced to your home you are going to invest most of your time in settling them in. And there is a number of this you should consider and action to make sure they have comfortable surroundings.

Recommendation is to keep the kitten in one room for the first week to make sure you allow them enough time to become familiar with their surroundings before their instinct kicks in to explore the rest of the house. One of the first things you will need to do is make sure the kitten has comfortable bedding so it has someone to retreat if they start to feel overwhelmed. Also make sure this room has all they would need such as water, food, litter tray and scratching post. If you have other pets, make sure to introduce them slowly by swapping their toys so they can have a good smell before meeting.
